Hooray! Free tuition for students of State Universities and Colleges was already signed by President Duterte.

And now, a bill seeking to provide free education for public school teachers was filed by a lawmaker for those pursuing graduate and post-graduate studies.

“Teaching is the profession that creates all other professions, but while teachers are genuinely fulfilled in their practice, they also struggle with the financial limitations of their career,” Vargas said in a statement.

The proposed “Act Instituitating the Scholarship Grants to Public School Teachers and their Children” House Bill 1389, Quezon City Representative Alfred Vargas aims to provide FREE TUITION for public school teachers in pursuing higher degree of education.

Vargas also stated that this is one of the things that the government should reward teachers, the free education.

Those who already rendered two years in the service are eligible to avail the scholarship grants in any master’s or post-graduate degree.

Aside from that, those legitimate children of the teachers will also be entitled for scholarship grants, covering pre-school, elementary, secondary and tertiary level.

“Through this bill, not only do we boost the morale and self-esteem of Filipino teachers, but we also contribute to their educations and professional growth,” Vargas said.

If the bill will be signed, more individuals will commit to the teaching profession.
